Dear Moderators: I know i'm not suppose to post thing like this, but its my obligation as a Cambodian Citizen.

Everyone, as you know, new7wonders is running an online survey for new registered 7 finest wonders in the world. Our Angkor is added as candidates. We were happy at the first time, but... i received news that Angkor is standing on the 11th Position out of 21. We are not even make it to the top 10, DAMN, what is everyone doing? Come on, we were the 7th last time, we are supposed to drop down. Lets deal in absolute. Vote for those who havent done yet.

Thanks for all attendtion and sorry again to moderators.

Is the survey serious? it is under the auspices of UNESCO which really means to rank all the world masterpieces? in fact i don't really care much whether angkor can make to the top ten or not. a world wonder is a world wonder. sometimes you can't just give it points or ranking fairly.

Hmm... even its not official or not so important, but at least think of it as a competition. Even we don't have a fair fight, but think of a better result we should achieve.

What better results? We should have been aware, in the first place, of our population, the number of our people who can use internet, and foreigners who know Angkor Wat. Plus, even if they do, it's not necessary that they will vote for Angkor. As far as I know, the other wonders are also magnificent. Let's just call them the world wonders without ranking. Or just rank them according to their ages. Or if we want to survey, just do it to find out which one tourists like to visit the most, but not which one is the best. For me, all are best; all have their own history and story to tell; all make us feel awe.

I've got your point but is this the way you want for our country?

1.Farmer don't even know how to use internet, i agree.
2. Most foriengers dont know Angkor Wat, i agree.
3. Some people who know but dont vote for Angkor, I disagree. You spoke as if you didnt browse that new7wonders pages or havent voted yet. Each person allows 7 choices. You cant really say about those who used to visit Angkor and didnt think of it in his/her 7.

Like i said, even its a small or unofficial or not specail competition, our Angkor should not stands behind others, we deserve our finest art award.

I think you definitely miss my point. I didn't say all the people who know Angkor don't vote for her. I said " even if they do, it's not necessary that they will vote for Angkor." Here I meant some  people do it and some don't. Is that the fact?

Of course, I really want our nation's soul to deserve what she sould; who don't want to, anyway? And I voted like a few years ago before there is much widespread communicaton about that.

Hi everyone,

I am still wondering about this even many people assure this is applicable and fair to every nation. I said this because not everyone has the opportunity to vote.

Best of luck,

2. Most foriengers dont know Angkor Wat, i agree.

I think the issue is not so much that foreigners don't know of Angkor Wat, but that this poll, which is not official, is primarily a nationalist thing, which means that it is heavily biased in favour of big nations and, as you rightly say, nations with high internet access.

Arguments? Did we use any harsh words or some insulting words? NO, we didnt, so its not argument.

I agree with Tdol. It's not an official vote at all. It isn't even fair for a small-population country like Cambodia. As a matter of fact, there are only 7 wonders in this world and other hundreds have newly existed. Maybe we should wait and see...but of course, whatever the result is out of this, it isn't widely accepted because of not a well-prepared condition of voting.
