I think it depends. Children with that experience of parents' divorce might or might not repeat it. In one respect, they can see it as a very scary example they don't want to try for themselves. In the other respect, they are doomed to go in the same direction. That's because their parents aren't beside them to care for them; therefore, they can be mis-directed and repeat it.

Children, mostly sons, pose problems in single households. The children may become abusive, demanding and unaffectionate. Some parents respond with depression, low self-esteem and a badgering type of parenting. A drop in school grades is also a problem in home where the single parent loses control. In home where the parent is in control, there is no sign of grade decrease. In single parenting home there are usually less frequent meals, irregular bedtime, late school arrivals and a breakdown in consistent and appropriate discipline.
