Does the two Different to and Different than, do it's still up to date usage?

Hi Kimlong,
According to a few dictionaries, the usages of "different" are as follows:
"Different from" is the most common structure in both BrE and AmE.
"Different to" is also used in BrE. - Paul's very different from/to his brother. - This visit is very different from/to last time. - Her jacket is a bit different to mine.
In AmE, people also say "different than". - Your trains are different than yours. - You look different than before.
Before a clause we can also use "different from" (and different than in AmE). However, before a clause, 'different than' is possible in BrE. - She looked different from what I'd expected. - She looked different than (what) I'd expected.
- The job'different than I expected. (or..................different from/to what I expected.)P.S. Hope you'll find this useful for you! More ideas are appreciated.

Hey Mala!
YOU are a very brilliant-head person whom I have ever found.
You always possess terrific ideas to share with the members here. Yet, you still have a matter, via my observation, that is, hardly have you asked any question in this site. It means you know all elements of English usage, don't you?
To my piont of view, we can share state-of-the-art ideas by asking and answering question, can't we?
For me, I still carry on asking to our club members when i find out new or odd notion or strategy even I had already known the answers, sometimes.
Why don't you create an extremely simple question, from your head, for us members to figure out?
I write this not mean to hurt you, but to find merit for our members!!

Hello Kimlong ,
Thank you very much indeed for telling me what you have been feeling about my presence here in the forum.
Well, I'm not a brilliant-headed person , but I'm just a person who cares about other people .
Really, I admit that I rarely ask questions but like sharing my ideas with everyone instead. In fact, if I really have questions, I'm going to ask everyone right away. However, most often, I try to figure out what I don't know by myself. I just can't pretend to ask my friends questions I already know. It's just impossible for me. So I convert this situation to idea sharing.
If I ask a completely easy question, somebody will think " oh, it's so easy, so why don't you know the answer?", but if I ask a harder question, somebody will say, " oh, it's so hard that people don't answer your question." But I've never considered all these feedbacks important to me. And I'm going to try to post more questions as well as answer as I possibly can. Well, let's see if I have a lot of free time online.
So I hope you understand that whatever I do, my purpose is to help myself improve my understanding and others as well. Obviously, I didn't claim I knew all the elements of English, yet I'm also learning from other people, like from this question u asked. And please remember we have different ways of learning things, but we achieve the same goal  .
Have fun! Hey, it doesn't hurt me at all. Don't expect me to be very sensitive, ok? See the words below and you're going to understand me!!

Thy words are actually right! Everyone has been various hints in they own learning way. I am another one who cares for others too much, i think.
Don't thou know the best way to sare knowledge and experience is to Ask and Answer.
And I awfully believe that we members of 5steps will be able to learn copious things from thee wheather it's too difficult or like a piece of cake!!
Welcome thy question my 5steps angel!
YOU know Jupiter also complains of having no question to answer from your.
And we, specailly Jupiter and I, are itching to answer your!!!!!!!

Hi all and sundry It's really fantastic to view your argumentative post on this topic. Both of you have different ideas which are reasonable. I consent to Mala's viewpoint that we have different ways of learning things, but we achieve the same goal. Thus, follow your own heart, that is, do whatever you want to do. Kimlong, I'm not over the moon with the word complain here 'cause I respect everybody's right and freedom, that is to say, you can ask or answer any question that is not beyond your knowledge. Also Kimlong, I'm really impressed to see the fifteen-century words like thou, thee, thy and thine are used in the twenty-first century again. May your dream go like a dream.Jupiter

Hello Jupi Nila and Kimlong, ( I feel a bit benefit and fun ?bout you three?s topic) I have noticed it since your first writing, Kimlong. I was really surprised with those words of yours which Jupi mentioned in the above post that they seem really strange to me. I really thought that it was a hot new style of writing from America ? but it isn?t. Thanks to Jupi for wiping away this confusing. But I am a bit into this and I wanna learn some more, Kimlong, how do you think? Nice to have posted this, Prasoeur PS. Nila, it'd be greater to argue in speaking.

used to think I had the answers to everything. But now I know, that life doesn't always go my way. So I must do something to get it to be the best one. All I have to do now is to get the best quality of learning English.

Great Prasoeur! Writing is the best to enhance English whiting, isn't?
I use all the obsolete words about means to remind the group members, especially myself, because all of which are frequently used in most of literature stories.
And I'll try my best to search and use it in this studied forum.
Thanks Jupi for your bitter-sweet admiration.

Hi Lydada and all the friends here ,
Thank you for your compliment, Lyda. I hope you always think I'm one of your friends online and perhaps in the world of reality . I don't wish to be a king or even queen. I want to be liked, not to be afraid of . Above all else, i'd like you, Lyda and everybody, else to think I'm one of your study parters. I make mistakes and want you all to correct mine. And I have seen a lot of students sharing so many wonderful ideas that I really appreciate their fantastic work.
Finally, I fervently hope we will all become more active in this website like keep posting answers and questions.Kounila P.S I like your name, Lyda. That's why I called you "Lydada". That reminds me of one of my best friends. Though we fail or succeed, at least we know we have tried our best!!!
