I don't know how to make friends with them, but I have a few foreign friends. Though you don't have foreign friends, you still can learn about foreign cultures. That is through BOOKS. I learnt the culture from books rather than from my friends.

What states in books just the theory; it is better if we can learn by practicing, I mean learn from the real person.

It's really hard to tell you how. I guess, people can be dealt with in the same way. They want to talk to true and honest people. If you want to have foreign or western friends, go to " www.lingozone.com". Create an account and send an message to people from any country you find in the site.

I dare say it is easy to make friend with the foreign persons, esp, the western one, since they like making friend very much. Here are some charateristics to fit with them: -Honest -State directly what you want to talk -Be active -Saying sth useful esp regard to social or international issues -Open heart -Open minded -Reading books, newspapers,...or any useful materials.

Have you ever heard that "Books are the mirrow to the real world"? I'm sure you will learn foreign cultures by making friends with foreigners. Still, you can learn a lot of great deal from books. I'm not talking about books like "The culture of this" or "The culture of that", but it's books about which describes their lifestyles and how they live there everyday lives. In case you haven't noticed, the books you study in schools now (Headway....) give you a very good view of English Culture.

I don't mean that reading book is useless, just want to say that if we have time we should practise the real thing!

Of course, reading books is a good way to guide us to the real world but sometime we need to practise the real thing as Kimlong said. Anyway, thanks for telling me the website, Mala .

I don't think foreigners are more friendly than Khmer. I don't like my foreign teachers.

You are most welcome, Santa. I don't think foreigners are more friendly than Khmer. I don't like my foreign teachers. Hehe, Chhit, all the foreigners are not bad and all the Cambodias are not always good. You have to find the right people to be your friends. Paul Brown is a very friendly foreign teacher.

I dont want to say directly to the nation that consists of unfriendly culture, yet I find the western countries are, according to my experiences, 99% friendly and easy to make friend with. I dare say the people from France 99% is.....
Think yourself!
