Dear everyone, despite I am not the native English speaker, I dare to say that English is not that hard to learn. To me, spending too much money on English and too long time for mastering English is not important as everyone has thought. Now we have different modes of learning it: www.5steps2ielts, CNN, BBC, library, English-speaking friends, etc. To me if you really devote to learning it and follow the right track, as that set by Paul Brown and other English expert, you will learn fast.

Have you ever thought why you need to spend too much money and time on English? English is not the major, just the bridging to your career. As soon as you get into daily practice or work, English will become that similar to your mother toungue.

Follow the right way of learning and reading, to me, is the best way to master English in a short period of time.

Hi Vicheka,

Happy New Year.

I really appreciate your idea.
But while reading your post, I've got a question which need answering.

My question is what is the right way of learning and reading?

Thanks in advance

To me Jupiter, I can't precisely answer this question, becasue one: I am not the learning or reading expert and secondly, becasue there are many applications to learning and reading. However, I would love now to reveal you my methodology.

Learning and reading, to me, is just one action. Becasue you start learning by reading. So i hereby would love to sum up your question to: what is the right way to reading?

Indeed, first pick you favorit book; law, politics, English, comics or fiction and be sure those material fit your level of English. Indeed Jupiter, as long as you pick your favorite material to read, it would be easier for you, becasue you also have psychological inspiration to your reading. May be you should not care about quality at first, just try to understand your reading; this would push you to carry on.

To me Jupiter, reading is the first step to improving all the four macro skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. And so you should develop the habit of reading; making reading as your "cup of coffee." Every expert has the reading habit or they are reading junky.

You do not need to know every unknown word in the reading, becasue if you open the dictionary every time, it will disgrace or disturb your reading or understanding. So to keep your good pace of reading, pick the book in your level and that suit your interest.

Do these answering your question?

I, Lay Vicheka, and Paul Brown will always be happy to answer your question and receive any feedback. And seeing your English improvement is the goal of www.5steps2ielts.com.

Cheers! Jupiter.

 Hey guys,  Grin

Some great ideas there and it is true that you should look at the English teacher as a 'gardener', who has to make sure that the 'flowers' in the garden are watered and keep growing. However, it is the flower that has to grow by itself, the gardener can only assist the process. In the same way, the student needs to make sure that his English is constantly improving and the teacher should make sure that he is learning in the right direction.

I am not sure that English is that easy, but it can be mastered with constant practice and good guidance from well-qualified English language teaching professionals.  Roll Eyes

One of 5 steps aims is to provide free support to all students and we hope that all students can develop the practice and get the information they need to become a fantastic learner of English!  Cheesy

5 steps is intended to be a special TEAM of learners, where TEAM means that...

 Together
 Everyone
 Achieves
 More

Hope all students can continue to learn more together!  Grin

 Have fun,

 Paul  Wink
