hi dear

i don think it is correct or not. i just explain what i've got in mind.
say : to make clear by using words
Ex : Be quiet, i have s.th to say.
      She said nothing about it.
remember that , In the stories the subj often comes after Said, Says or Say when it follows he actual words spoken, unless it is a pronoun.

speak : (it's the same to talk)to have a conversation with s.b
EX : can i speak with u for a minute?

tell : to give information
EX : did she tell u her name?

hey u, sometime u don need to know the meaning clearly. u have to focus on and remember to what circumstances, sentences, phrases...something like that, they're using with, for example, I want to talk to u, not i want to say to u. that's absolutely wrong.

ok i'm lost for words now so it's time for me to kick my ass from this website.
hope u guy know how to use the three of them.

oh if there is wrong with my explanation, pl let me know. i'll rectify it.

davy

In terms of definition,  Dadavy has done the job.

But some other things to notice...

Say: follow by a statement. It's structure is: To say "statement (or reporting statement)" or To say sth to sb.
Example: I said "SHUT UP"...
Or: I said bad words to him.
Speak: follow by preposition (as to create a phrasal verb) and noun. It's structure is: To speak (of sth), To speak to sb, To speak about sth (to sb),
Example: I spoke to her about my future girlfriend.
Or: I always speak about love with my parent.

Tell: follow by noun, specailly personal noun. Its structure is: To tell sb about sth (or to be told about sth).
Example: I told you not to bet Chelsea, see... Liverpool beat them 2 goals.
Or: Have you ever been told about the risk of aborting?

To me, there is no big differences between the meanings of the three terms; they are different in how they are used.
I strongly agree with denith. You just have to remember their stuctures.
