Reading books is the first thing to do to gain much of the knowledge. Socializing comes next and watching TV is also beneficial to General Knowledge pursuit.

Hello William Smiley

Welcome. I know you are a student from IFL. We are neighbours. Cheesy So now, let's come to your question of what is general knowledge. General knowledge is too huge to say and describe. It is knowledge that people in the world try to learn every day. We can never learn all of general knowledge in this world. For example, learning how to fix a car is also general knowledge. What do you say? Smiley Learning how many countries there are on the earth is also general knowledge. After all, general knowledge can be studied anywhere you are. Reading many books can increase your general knowledge. There are many websites that can provide you general knowledge; for example, websites about law in Cambodia, about economics and so on so forth Smiley...If you learn about Cambodia, first you look at the profile of the country and then how the country runs. Smiley Perhaps, not only the Cambodians should learn about Cambodia but other people as well.

General knowledge is knowledge that is available to anyone. Yes, It's very difficult to get more about general knowledge. Because we cannot build our general knowledge by overnight but we need to take time to build it day by day. I think reading books will grant you more about general knowledge but not as much as the fact we met. It's completely good if we have both of them together. Getting to know about general knowledge is borderless.
If you want to triple your general knowledge, the key is don’t be too confined or consumed by what it is that you want to look up. What I mean is, as you are looking up your subject, look up and read about anything else you see along the way, that even looks remotely interesting.

I don't know exactly which website or place to study in cambodia is good, but for the way I think is, every websites and every places even all the people we meet, without any exception, are the sources of General Knowledge.

General knowledge is a braod term to express!! and everybody can explain it various ways refering to their own sight.

But currently, for me, if we use such term mostly refer to the knowlegde of knowing what is happening around us, esp, the social problem regarding external and internal economic situation, hot or break news both domestic and world......a lot.....

Newspaper is the best source for gaining general knowledge rightnow.

it is for me!

Not just "What is happening"... then, what about "history" and "culture"? They are also General Knowledge. This not to mention "science" and "technology" and those "future" things.

General knowledge is gained through reading many different stuff in books, newspapers, magazine, or online.
What's important is the depth of understanding of the articles we read, and it depends on how knowledgeable we are in the subject. If we had taken classes such as history, art, and politics, we would be much more interested in any articles related to those subjects because we can connect what we know to what we are reading.
And for science related subjects, it is even more difficult to understand scientific explanation of certain discovery without having any basic knowledge in science matter such as biology, chemistry and physics.

General knowledge is the core of one's life. We all make decisions based on our experience and what we know about. So the more we know, the wiser dicisions we make (although it's not true all the times.)
We make judgements everyday, and those judgements have a great impact on us because with them we determine how we think, what we do, and how we behave.
