1. A phrase is a group of words that acts in a sentence as single part. There are three kinds of phrases.
1 Prepositional Phrase, a group of words that begins with a preposition and usually ends with a noun or a pronoun, called the object of the preposition. Ex: I voted against the idea.[Idea isthe object of the proposition against.]
2 Appositive Phrase, a group of words that modify a noun or pronoun that is placed next to it. He is Sokha, the cleaverest student in class.
3 Verbal phrases, group words that have functions as a noun, an adjective, an adver, infinitives. Ex: The freezing rain slowly turned to hail. Ex, To sleep is relaxing.

2. There are too many clauses. I tell briefly about clauses.
    1. Main clause
    2. Subordinate Clause
    3. Adjective Clause
    4. Adver Clause
    5. Noun Clause

If you are not clear pls check grammar books.
