We know that people have different ways of seeking pleasure. Some people prefer to stay alone in order to enjoy the silence, while others want to be surrounded by a crowd. Going out at night is one of them. The night club can be defined as a good meeting place for exhausted workers, stressed people and others to have joy.
For Cambodia, the night clubs establishment is booming. Spark, Rock, US, Casa... these are some of the famous night club site of Cambodia. While most people consider these places are for men entertainment, we see that the presence of women in this kind of places is obiquitous.
To my question:
1. Do you think it is okay for girls to go to night club at nighttime?
2. Will they damage the value of Khmer culture and Khmer woman?
3. Can you think of alternatives places for woman to kill their boredom and stress?

I think it's not so good for girls hang out to the night club at night time in cambodia, coz this against Cambodian culture unlike boys can do anything they want to. I would thanks to god for me was born to be a boy....hahaha I could not answer all ur questions... mayb other members can anser thos bettr than me  |

Hey You! Do you think all the girls who go out at night are all bad??? C'on it's 2008! Seeking place for backing up the mood, is it wrong? I won't refuse but I would defense, but only for any girls who did the right thing and know how to limit themself. It's good if they are with their group of friend. My Answer: 1- It's ok for girl to go out at night. But it depend on each individual and what kind of joy will you choose to entertain themselves. 2- They will if they turned it to be awful things. 3- Of course, a lot of places they can chill out. Basically, they sometimes need to burn their stress with sort of places. you know dancing with loudest music sometimes can help. I know most of people would find girls should not show up at that kind of places. But please understand about some good girls who just want to, well, chill out! It's what I experienced from some of sisters sisters!  |

So can I ask you one more question? When you learnt that some certain girls (or female friend) you know go out at night to nite club, what comes to your mind in the first place? Is it about her security? Is it about her dignity? or about her virginity?

The first thing come to my mind is about dignity. Hmmm Good or bad it depends on them. I wont judge them for anything.

ummm... just couldn't find good answer to that question.  if you stand at traditional culuture u'll think it's bad but in contrast u may think different so i would say it's good or bad is on your presentation |

Well, for me... when hearing about a certain girl going out at nite to nite club, the first thing comes to my mind is dignity. Because, Cambodia is still regarded as a traditional country and woman is among Khmer symbol of tradition.

Well in my opinion, it's not a problem when girls are going out at night. Men do it too, so why women can not?  Nowadays we focus on Gender. Ok let's answer to your 3 questions: 1. I think it 's ok for girl going to night club at night. Let's look to the situation in some asian countries such as Singapore or Thailand. You'll see sometime there have women more than men in some nightclubs. Women can decide to do it whenever they want because it's their right. We should not say it is not good. 2. Damaging Khmer value and women value?? I think it could be sometime and it depends on how those women behave in the nightclubs. But I think if we focus much only on culture, there will have none of the development. 3. Yeah there are so many places beside going to nightclubs for girl to kill their stress such as going to the massage, spa, sauna or bar with musical...and so many more. Finally, I want to say that education is also involved in this problems.I mean if women who go to nightclub are well educated, they will not damage our culture value and Khmer women value....I believe that.!!!! |

Hi.. Let me share my stupid idea with you all..
I think it is depend who the girls go with.. if they go with a good boy then it will be fine and safe.. but make sure they go to a good place as well otherwise bad boys from other group can make you a problem. Occassionally, girls should go out at night time to have a social network. i usually see many good girls enjoy their fun times with friends. But again you have to face with your family restiction, you are sure that you do something to make your parent believe you and not just one time but always..
