Global Warming 

      :oThe whole world seems to be so beautiful and peaceful for all the living things. Certain amount of the sun’s heat is absorbed by gases called ‘Greenhouse Gases’ in the atmosphere and radiated back towards the earth. This has resulted in the warming of the earth’s surface, and this effect has been known as the ‘Greenhouse’s effect’. Carbon dioxide is the primary gas that traps almost of the heat; also it is the primary gas which makes global warming. Before the climate on earth was just warm enough, and the weather was steady. For example, in summer and fall the heat increased and in winter and spring the heat decreased. However, now it has been changed it’s increasing warmer and warmer every year and we call it as a ‘Global Warming’. By the record of scientists it shows us that long time ago CO2 was not over 3000 parts per million, but today at the last few years it increases more than 3000 parts per million. Moreover, the increasing rapidly of greenhouse gases is caused by developing countries especially United State and China. In fact all the people around the world cause it but not only just the individual, and of course the worst result will come after then.
     In the past people use old habits with old technology it was just harmless, but now they use a new method using old habit but with a new modern technology to serve their needs, so the result is worse. The activities of human are the major of the cause of global warming. Birth boomer (9 billion and it may over at the next few years) is the main problem that causes people to increase land for agriculture, settlement, and transportation. This needs to clear more and more lands of forest. When we cut down some trees it means that we destroy the primary transmitter of CO2. Furthermore, our daily activities burning fuel to run the motor vehicles or for industries also cause to increase CO2.
     Same as people destroy forests and increase CO2 in the atmosphere, they also get a lot of disadvantages from those back to themselves. When the CO2 is increasing in a huge amount, it is also increasing the heat wave. We can see this wave easily when we stay in a remote area or drive along national roads in a hot day. Also, while the heat wave is increasing, it will make the temperature of the earth increase hotter and hotter then it causes ice and glaciers on the mountains and especially in the polar region melt. To prove it we can see that mosquitoes now are able to live at a higher attitude of the mountain which they couldn’t live there before.  At the time that these regions are changed their natural environment; also, it makes sea level changed and submerge a lot of numbers of areas on earth; as a result, it destroys ecological system. For instance, animals and plants which live in polar region or live in areas around this region will be extinct. Moreover, when cold water that comes from melting of the ice and glaciers from those regions turn into the sea then it will stop the movement of the stream (hot current and cold current) in the sea because fresh water that comes from ice and glaciers not able to combine with the water of the sea. In addition, global warming also brings a lot of tornadoes, hurricanes, and flood, but for some areas they face drought because of global warming causes huge amount of water on earth evaporate rapidly. Even the roots of the trees also die because of drought then it will ruin the soil and then make a lot of buildings around that area easily to collapse. For another point is that we will face health problems such as skin cancer, eye problems, and suppression of the immune systems.
     Finally, in order to stop global warming everyone need and must pay much attention and take strong commitment. We must use energy from solar energy and wind energy instead of using fuel to reduce much amount of CO2, and improve the way in practicing that we use for industries to control the amount of CO2. Especially we need to stop cut down the forests and start to plant trees, and another importance is to control the birth rate.

Some people industrial and economy sectors still argue that global warming is just a scam. They defend their stance by saying that warmer temperatures, drought, high incidence of tornadoes, hurricane also have happened in the past.
However, global warming supporters counter-respond by showing evidence of abnormal pattern of ice melting and polar bears population reduction in the poles.

Personally i think the change of human behaviors in living (more cars, more electronics,...therefore more energy consumption) have affected the well being of the environment as more CO2 is trapped in the atmosphere resulting increasing amount of sun light reflecting back into the earth (cannot leave the atmosphere after reflecting from the earth.)

However little is being done to solve the problem. We care more about getting new sources of energy to keep up with the increased use of energy and lowered amount of oil available.

Beside oil, Ethanol (alcohol) can also be used as energy source. Ethanol can be used in vehicle. In Brazil, most cars use ethanol and gazoline. Currently they make ethanol out of corn kernels (part of corn that we eat.)
Therefore the price of gettting ethanol is not cheap but cheaper than gazoline in Brazil.

Billions of dollars have been pumped into Biofuel research. Basically, biofuel research centers on making ethanol out of un-used part of plants such as corn leaves, corn cobs, grasses, weeds,... (soft wooden materials.) They are all biodegradeable (means they can be broken and absorbed into soil making soil more fertile.)
Now they can make ethanol using these biodegradable stuff but the price is too expensive. So the research is focusing on lowering the price of the process of making ethanol from biodegradeable materials.
But the prospect of achieving the goal is still many years away. Some scientists in the field don't even have much hope in it.

Now nuclear energy has regained much attention since oil price is rising incessantly. 80% of energy used in France is from nuclear source.

Global warming are mainly caused by the riches but the poors are its first and most vulnerable victims.
CO2 and methane gaz are the two main components that cause global warming. Why?
CO2 and methane have the ability to absorb and contain heat much better than any other gazes in atmosphere such as O2 and N2.
CO2, O2, NO2 are the three main gazes in the air we live in. Humans, animals, cars, machines... release CO2 in the air. Trees, ocean algeas absorb CO2 and release O2. More cars, more machines result in increased CO2. Less Trees decrease CO2 absorption and increase CO2 in the air. When we have more CO2 in the air, we increase heat container; the earth is getting warmer. Warm temperature results in less rain and more drought. The drought in Cambodia might also be caused by global warming. The process is slow but subtle.
And who are the victims? poor Cambodian farmers.
