Hello everybody,

I have met one sentence which I cannot explain how it is made. It is: Included in the list is one book............. Could anyone tell me how this is made? This is a phrase I quoted from one reading book called "FYI=For Your Information 2".

HOpe to get your reply!

Hello everybody,

From Jupiter's help, I have found the answer of this question.

Included in the list is one book.

This is called an inverted sentence and it's used in a very formal emphatic writing. More important, it seems obligatory to move " included in the list" to the front position.

A simple sentence should be " One book is included in the list."

And another emphatic way of this sentence is that the prepositional phrase " in the list " is moved to the front.
--> In the list is included one book.
In the list, one book is included.
