Hi everyone!

Anyone knows the differences of 'home' and 'house'? My teacher told me 'home' is only where we live from when we were born, like we can say 'You can buy a house, not home' But my friends, they said 'home' is everywhere we can stay as usual and in peace like 'Home sweet home' in TOM AND JERRY SHOW, I think.

Thanks.

Both of them are rite.

I can elaborate:

1. HOUSE is a concrete noun whereas HOME is an abstract noun.  Ex. I go to my house. -and- I go home. (So, no "to" for HOME since its an abstract noun)
2. HOUSE is a building where you live while HOME is where you are living (meaning any places i.e boat, flat, villas, palace, van etc)
3. HOUSE is a home but HOME is not just a house. Same example to the 2nd explanation.
