Yes, I learnt a lot in English... I learnt English for about 10 years and I taught English during the same period... learn and teach is the policy i learnt. I have also got the Moderator of this site as my best friend by discussing many things in English... Really, learning English will never be completed... of course, we can't complete learning of any language... they are indefinite like space... i have enjoyed a lot learning English, sharing my views, guiding friends, though i'm not expert in English. mmm... i will give more ideas once people start posting on this... I hope this topic will occupy the highest replied topic in the forum statistics... all d best to TOPIC...

I am surprised that you have never seen this stupid question before. But I've heard it many times by experts of English and teachers of English. Perhaps, you haven't done a lot more research about this. You see, English changed your life when you were in grade 10. Why did you still claim that this question is silly? Without English, would you have been able to earn some pocket money? Tell me.

@Sarath: sorry, but I think i understand enough to answer it to Mala De Nila. @Mala De Nila: Of course it did change me a bit. It is the force to keep my mind of finding money in young age and I did earn some good money from translation at that time. Anyway, English also change my life style. See, I got foreign girlfriend at the moment. No need for the best, coz I'm not best of the rest. I'm an absolute BlueLander, Sarath. You should ask people around here who am i. Or visit my blog for fun.

Hi everybody,
I'm really interested to know from you how long you have learned English and so far how English has influenced your life since you began to learn it. For instance, have you become more hard-working, self-confident? Have you changed some of your habits because of English? Have you found new friends and traveled somewhere abroad? do you think that you have become more aware of your native language? Perhaps, you can imagine how you life would have been if you hadn't learned English. Or without English, what do you expecte yourself to do in your life? Hi Nila and all,
Am I abit late sharing you guys my ideas? Well, your questions are interesting indeed, Nila, and I'd like to show you guys about learning English for me. Since I have been learning English so far, I realise that my life has been changed from day to day, and I could improve myself by using Engish. Obviosely, English has changed some of my hobbies such as I'm becoming a hard worker in reading so that I could get more imformation; moreover, I could make more friends, for example, you and other members course I involve in English on 5steps, so this is a good chance for me to improve my general knowledge with you guys.

Hello! everyone. It's a pretty cool to have experiences in learning English. I can coffirm that English has changed my life because i can read all the information on the internet and especial hanging in communication with foriegners also becoming as one of the bookworm in English literature . As for these reasons i also gain the benifit to become more confident in using it widely and more confident in traveling abroad because obviously, the cat got my tongue while i was standing in conversaion with foriegners and frighten to travel abroad becasue the question is what going to say to other people there while i was in danger or faced with a problem . It generally made me nervous and inferior when i talked to native English speakers. All these happened at the time that my English wasn't good enough. You know one interesting fact that i met while my traveling to Singapore and Malaysia,um! the English language is very powerful and important, everyplace was written in English and even i needed to talk to their people. It's used more widely than it has in our own country. It means when we start to take our step outside our country's border, we'll see how important this language is. Moreover, another good point is that i can make a lot of friends like all of you through working in English such as this website,5Steps. In the past i just learned English but i didn't have even a place beside my school to practice. Finnally, i can judge that learning and practicing this language make me fun and very helpfull to my life, or it means without English, it's like a soup without ingredient .

Hi everybody (Sarath, Denith, Davuth, Rachada, Santa and more to come) I've been glad you all have shed some light on my topic. It's doubtless to me now that English has had an interesting impact on the life of the learners. You may or may not believe this word but the truth is out. What about me? How has my life changed since I started to learn English? I have obviously become more self-confident. It seems like something indescribable. At first, I felt that English was a very important means for a good university and then a lucrative job. It was and will always be, I hope. That's why it has made me feel more self-confident in studying, working and living. Actually, I have developed new habits. I no longer spent much time watching TV and wasted my time sleeping. Since then, I have tried to read, write, speak and listen to English at any moment I can catch. As for new friends, I have met very interesting people through communicating with them in English. I have learned a lot about the world because of English. I believe many other people perhaps have the same experience about it. Without English, I would not have been able to imagine what another language fit a huge requirement like English. Hmm...so far I have not been to any country; however, I believe in the future I will travel a lot. This reminds me of English use and how much English is going to help me get successful in my travelling. This is funny. The more you know about English, the more aware you become of your native language. Why? That's because most of often I compare the differences between English and my native language (Khmer). Any learner of English as a second language does that. It's natural to think about one's own language at the same time when we are using English. I would have spent my time watching TV more and more Laughing if I hadn't started to learn English. I think in my country there's field of study or work which does not require English. And yes, globalization has taken place so far. Thanks for your contribution.
