I've come up with a website discussing about speed reading. It's mindtools.com. You'll find very many interesting guides that you may wanna read before the topic of speed reading!!

You see! This is what I said:

Quote
Speed is important
It certainly is more enjoyable to be able to read something rapidly, instead of spending what seems like forever struggling through the words.

too fast a reading wouldn't give a complete comprehension of the content is the major problem that i currently have (which really frustrated me) and too slow a reading wouldn't help me to finish it on time....... what should i really do? : ( usually it would take me between 1 hour to 2 hours to read 20 pages...

Hmm...that tells me you are in a dilemma. You've got to choose which technique applies to your situation. If you are reading news or some other things for pleasure, you can read very fast. But if you are reading a very technical or hard-to-understand text, you've got to slow down your reading a little bit. You can't always read fast without making yourself sure you really understand what you have read. On doing a test, you are supposed to read fast (scan & skim).  Smiley

Just addition:

Do not feel nervous, when you have test. Feel relax, otherwise, your work is not really good.
