For me, when I speak to the public, the way I keep my confident is to be happy. Thats would sound very personal and individual to others. But, I think in general, to hold the confident is not hard but need early exercise. I mean, psychologically, people are confident when they own the show, the knowledge, or the conversation. I mean, if you know alot about RAIN for example, and you are speaking to your friends about him, then you will have alot of confidence since you know nearly everything about him. The loss of confidence happens when you think that "What if my speech is mislead (means you give people wrong information)?" or, "what if they asked me questioned I couldnt answer."
But like I said, owning is the way to do so. Look at our teacher, they own their knowledge that is why they are able to teach us.

Yeah, good then. But i say all because of you, yourself, if you think it's ok then everything's gonna be all right.

How to hold confidence??? Unless you have confidence. Before having confidence, you have to be a know-it-all person. Then you need to gain your knowledge or anything related to subject you are talking about. So when you come to speak in public, you will be able to hold a thought that you are not afraid of anything, because you believe in yourself which is your confidence.
For me, I lack of confident. heh!

The most important thing is what we are going to talk about. If we the speaker know clear about the topic, the idea will come out. Then this is called cnfidence becouse when we know what to talk about, we doné feel hastitated. Afer all we are welcome by the surounders.
Good luck Tola

Did you watch Sarah Palin's speech and interview? She prepares only the things she needs to say that is why she keeps repeating the same statements. CNN reports this to a "comedy show" lead by John Steward.
So, it is the extension of our knowledge our the "things we will speak" that would help us control our nerves. If you are going to present about HIV/AIDS, you got to do more study on some statistics, origins, and other related fields to make yourself ready for questions. You must expect what people would wanna know after hearing your speech.

Ah!! Thank you to all of you that you give a very good advice for the last post "how to hold confidence". I'm really happy. However, I want to ask you for one more question "How to got the main idea of the reading text?" Do you think that most of the main idea of the reading text are stand at the introductory paragraph? The reading is sometimes seem to be very difficult because it has many difficult words and phrases. How can you learn to be good at READING? Hope to get some excellent ideas and experiences from all of you. Good luck to everyone!!

Reading is hard if you don't read at all. But if you read, it's gonna be easy and catch up the main idea. First you have to understand what the book is talking about and find the main topic. you can do the plot also. For me the way i find the main topic are read over and over again, answer the questions. It's not easy for me either to find the main topic and read fast:(
