Hello Paul,

I would like to know how I can read well. That is to say, I want to benefit a lot from reading. I want to get knowledge after I read something like newspaper, reading books or something like that.Cheesy. I sometimes find myself reading one paragraph again and again without continuing. So how can we read well to gain knowledge from those?  :?:. And, what kind of books should we read to improve my English?

Thank you.

first of all i want to say that u should read ALL KIND of books!
i think ur problem is ur poor vocabulary coz when u don't know some words in ur reading u will don't understand what u r reading, right?
Thus, try to read more and more to expand ur vocabulary
i hope u'll get better and the best one day, farewell.......

Khay Vichara,

It is great that you are trying to improve your reading, and i would recommend that you start with reading about things you are interested in. That way you will be learning about something you like as well as learning some new vocabulary in English. It is true that all kinds of reading is beneficial, but it is good to read things you like, that way you will keep up your interest even if the reading is difficult.

As for tips to improve vocabulary, there will be some more content about that coming to the site very soon. If you look around in the Reading section of the postings you will find my advice for how to improve knowledge of Academic Vocabulary. It is to do with a basic understanding of Prefix, Root, Suffix and this will give you an ability to guess words that you don't know the exact meaning of with some success.

The best way to improve reading is to keep loggin in and reading what our members have posted and the ideas they are sharing. The site is all in English, so loggin in everyday and reading the new postings is also a great way to practice your reading skills!

welcome to the site and spread the word among your friends about the site and the radio show, as we get bigger we will also get better  Cheesy

have fun,

Paul

P.S Khay Vichara if you send me a PM ( personal message ) and tell me what is your exact level of English, i will make some recommendations for some books which will be suitable for your level  Cheesy
