Hey guys,
Yeah this is a tricky problem, as words in English are not always written as they sound. Most of them are though

,it is just some of them are not always phonetically written. This means we pronounce the word and spell the word differently. This makes English a bit different from other languages, as usually if we learn all the sounds of the language, the spelling rules are usually the same, and the words are written how they sound, I think Khmer is like this.
For improving your spelling and vocabulary skills, it is a good idea to try to learn a word a day, learn the word ( what it means ), how to pronounce it properly ( so you know how to speak it correctly), and also the spelling ( so you know how to write it correctly). So learning a word has 3 parts to it. If you learn a word a day, it would make your vocabulary, pronunciation and spelling all improve slowly over a period of time
Jupiter,

good ideas about the spelling rules, there are some spelling rules that exist in English and i before c, except after c is surely one of them.
Some other important ones relating to plural countable nouns to remember are...
one wife, two wives ( f changes to v and add es )
one party, two parties ( y changes to i and add es )
one bonus, two bonuses ( if a word ends in s, to make plural add e and s)
one match, two matches ( if a word ends in h to make plural add e and s)
will have more soon,
have fun,
