So do I!
Steps by steps, dude!
I think everyone has experience like you at the first time they started learning English. We're not native English speaker; therefore, we may find it a bit difficult to speak. Don't worry!
Let's have fun with English!

Hi, Borin!

This is Longdy! You know what I don't talk much as well, so I really understand your problem right now!
You said when talking, you don't have a lot of things to talk about, and that makes u find it hard to improve your speaking! Actually, the most efficient way to speak better in English is to speak as much as you can! You said u often say Yes and No. so imagine if you were not trying to speak in English, do you have to only yes or no to say. When you speak in khmer do you have a lot of things to say? If you do, it's not that you are quiet; it's you are too shy to speak in english. So my suggestion to you is that: please try not to speak Khmer and try to turn those words that you want to speak in Khmer into English! Even if it's not your nature to speak much, you should try to speak more because in studying English, being quiet and not speaking is not gonna help at all! There's always things to say! It may be hard for you to find things to talk with strangers or someone you're not close to, so try to speak in English to someone you know and are close to; you'll have much more things to say. Just remember not to be shy and always feel obliged to speak in English!!!!!

You know what it's my very first post in 5steps webpage, and i'm kinda excited! I strongly hope that my suggestions would help! Thanks!!!! See you later..... Smiley

Hi Borin!
I know your problem.I was the same you before.I just have some ideas for you and I don't know my ideas is useful for you or not because I am so poor with English.
I think, you should try to speak more and more and don't be shy with your speaking because no one is perfect.you should pratice with your native speaker and don't care about grammer. We learn by the mistake.anyway you can choose any topic to speak and try to speak with your native speaker or in front of the mirror for practicing/

Remember, Don't be shy and Don't care about grammer.

 Wink
Those ideas that you have been provided are the best for to improve your speaking skills. To be honest, i also have some problems with my speaking skills. When i speak i usually make mistakes sometimes in grammar and another time with my sentence structure. To better your speaking skills, you should make an effort to speak as much as you can and keep yourself away from shyness because it is an enemy of your speaking improvement. Moreover, you told al of us that you could only answer to your friends with shorts answer. This is not a good way to speak because if you take speaking you will not pass it. You should try your best to develop your topic or conversation or sometimes try to ask your friends back whatever you can think of at the time you are talking with them. Hey i have also some difficulties with my listening skills. I don't know why, when i speak in person i can catch what people say or talk. On the other hand, when i listen to western movie or tap script i can't catch the meaning. what should i do? i hope I will be given good ideas about this problem.
