Hi guys,

A big IELTS is coming up soon. However, I am not ready to take the test, cos my reading is too low, in addition to this, I always run out of time, and therefore, I have to guess. Since I practiced reading, I realize that the majority of my guessing is not accurate at all.

What should I do to control the time given? I am completely stuck!

What should I do if the result is not satisfactory enough. I wish to get at least 6.0. Otherwise, my mom might be too disappointed on me. I have been trying my best, but it seems nothing can be improved.

All the best,
Chanpisey

I bet, the IELTS test is arriving on 19th, isn't it? Well, it's a bit too soon but I hope you have been prepared for it. Cheesy

Anyway, my suggestion for time management in reading is that you don't have to spend too much time for each question. In fact, i'm not an expert or something in IELTS but I am just one of the students who wish to take the TOEFL and want to share ideas Cheesy.

Spending more time on each question in reading section won't help you get the anwers correct. Well, as we think, you first should read the whole passage and notice the remarkable places/people....in the passge...When you come to the questions, you have an easier time finding the answers.

Guessing all the time is not a good way, so you need to have enough ability for it too. Any good score of either the TOEFL or IELTS depends on  our test skills and real ability of our own. Believe in yourself, Pisey. I believe you have prepared for it and a few days before the test you should relax. Don't cram for the exam. It leaves you restless and anxious.

Hope other members will share more ideas for you!   Cheesy

Good luck!

To reach the one hundren miles long is to begin with a single step.

As I have beholded your trouble, you said you are a weak-reading-skill-in-the-test person. Moreover, you have also mentioned that you are a poor-management-time guy.

To achieve your goal, firs, you have to win yourself. It means that you have to be yourself. You, for instance,  make a schedule to learn therefore you have to learn it consistandly or have to respect on what you have determined.

It is a bit hard to give command to get succeed in a very short time. Yet,
to solve your matters I have some notions.

For time management:
Now it is 13th and your test is begining to start at 19th so you have 6 days more, right?

So during this invalue days you have to practise IELTS test sample as much as you can. In this duration, you have to prentend or determine yourself as you are taking a real test. And please alarm your watch or your phone to remind that time is on. Time by time you will succesfully be able to control your time management.

In the test we have several sections, right? So you have to alarm your clock every the end time of each section. For example, you take the Structure section and  the real test time offers you maybe only 25 minutes, so you have to do your merely the among of this time.

For reading section:

Via my little experiences, taking the reading skill is not very difficult in case you are aware of that skill techniques. I find it easy to do on this section while:

1, first you have to skim on those appeared questions so as to get the main points what the questions are about. We will be much more easier to get the answers from the text if we foreknow the questions.

2, Learn to eliminate the answers. this is the best way for whom who doesn't know what is the correct one. Like, A, B, C, D, we have to think which the two first is the suitable one and then choose the appropriate one afterward.

Be alert guy! be sure that the day you get test is the clear and sunny day. I mean you have to prepare your mind well. Don't be overspelt, tired or think about other complicated issues which are not relevent to the test.

Remember, pratice makes perfect!!!!!!

I optimistically believe and wish that you guy will pass your exam and get a satisfatory mark as you expected.

 Goodluck!!

Hello everybody, particularly Pisey  Cheesy

I'm sure all of you have known the tips and techniques in reading section already. But just want to remind you that when taking reading test, no need to waste your worhtwhile time with the difficult question!

Try to complete the easy/easiest question first and if you have time you can go back to the most onerous one.

Answer the question you think it's NOT out of your question FIRST!

Succeed in your exam
