Hello everyone,
Why do some students understand and remember more information than other students? Part of the reason may be that they have a better understanding of how to listen, to read textbooks, and to take notes.
To be a good listener, we must be active listeners. That is, we must completely fill our mind by thinking about what we hear as we hear it.
1. As we listen, we should think from time to time about the main points that the speaker has already made.
2. We should try to think ahead of the speaker and to figure out the directions his or her speaking is talking.
3. We should consider what the speaker may be suggesting but not actually saying. In other words, we listen " between the lines".
4. We should try not to react emotionally to what the speaker is saying until we have heard all of it: If we start to thinking about how we feel about a particular statement, we may miss what the speaker is saying next.
5. We should take notes on the important information.
I hope that everyone will find this useful.
