 Hey guys, Wink

Here are some more recent IELTS writing topics..... Grin

If you are taking the test soon, I strongly recommend that you brainstorm these topics and make sure you have enough ideas to answer the essay question under test conditions. Remember, most students don't get the writing score they want because they cannot get enough ideas and  not because they don't have a good academic writing structure.

 1. 'How can adult access to further education be improved?'

**Here you must understand what further education means and how you think more adults could get an opportunity to continue their learning**

 2. 'What are the advantages and disadvantages of homeschooling?'

**Here you need to assess the pros and cons of a child not going to school, but instead being taught all their lessons at home, either by their parents or by a private tutor**

 3. 'The detailed reporting of crime in the media is has a negative effect on society.
To what extent do you agree?'

** Here you need to consider whether reporting of crime in newspapers, magazines, or the television can have harmful effects on society. Does it lead to more crime? Does it encourage others to commit more crime? Should there be some limits on what should be reported and what shouldn't?

4. 'Some think that advertisements are an effective way of informing the public about new products;
others think that they are a waste of money and are ineffective.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.'

 Have fun,  Wink

 Paul

P.S If you want to write an essay and have it marked and graded for free, please post it into the Writing part of the foruma and the 5steps2ielts team will be happy to help you and give you some useful feedback.

 Hey guys, Grin

Here is another practice topic for IELTS writing task two,

' With the increasing popularity of telephones and computers, the skill of letter writing is being lost.'
'To what extent do you agree or disagree?'
'How important is the skill of letter writing?'

*Be careful with this essay title as it is asking you to perform two tasks, not the usual one. You are being asked to discuss and either agree or disagree with the statement, but also you are being asked to decide how important letter writing is these days. You must make sure that answer both parts of this topic to get a high score*

Don't forget that you can write any of these essays for practice, post them up in this forum and the 5steps team will grade and assess them with some feedback for free!

 Have fun,  Wink

 Hey guys,  Grin

Here are some recent IELTS essay topics... Undecided

Remember the best way to prepare is to practice brainstorming some ideas and trying to write an essay within the 40 minute time limit. In writing essays for exams like IELTS and iBT TOEFL time is your enemy. So the more practice you get, saves you more time on the actual exam day!  Grin

 1. Some people think that governments are responsible for the health of its
citizens, while other people think that the responsibility is with the
individual. Discuss both views and give your opinion

 2. Some people are not suitable for work in the government sector.
     Do you agree?

 3. These days more and more women are doing jobs which were traditionally
viewed in the past as jobs only for men. What is your opinion about the
kind of jobs that women should be allowed to do in society?

Remember guys, you can write any of these essays for practice, post them in the writing section of the forum and the 5steps team will assess it and give you some feedback for free.

 Have fun,  Wink

What about writing a paragraph? If i should post a paragraph, will you assess it? Why don't you give us some topics to write a paragraph? I think it's good for those who haven't learned how to write an essay but a paragraph.
