Hello all pals here!
I find it's really difficult although I practise listening to IELTS practice listening test everyday, especially when they speak alone describing something. They speak really fast. And one more thing when I do practice test, for some questions, they require context comprehension, which is my weakness. Is there anything I could do to improve my comprehension skill?

hey to u Richard

listening to IELS is not enough, if u wanna be a real good at that, u should watch english speaking movies with the subtitle. that's the first step, after u believe ur english much improve(listening), u must go on without subtitle like Star Movie Channel, HBO.....something like that. after the years have gone by, u'll realise how awesome u a about listening skill, no matter what it is conversation or alone reading text. u'll catch it eventhough sometime not the whole but u'll understand what they're talking about.
i don know it can help u or not, for me it helps alot. that's the way i'm doing right now.
ok wish u good luck with that!

Thanks to all of u!
But the problem is that my vocabulary is so typical that I could understand only 10% or 15% while watching the English movie or the subtitles. It is hard for me to practice that, isn't it?

Hi guys!

Rechardsok, if u could not understand vocabularies much on the subtitle while you are watching movie, you should try to understand the meaning by concentrating on their activities/gester, faces or eyes contact as well as keeping listening carefully. Just try and try everyday, you'll see how much you can improve.Practise makes you perfect! Wink

Just an idea! Grin

hi dear!
that's happening to u cos u a kind of poor at vocabu...and not concentrate on what u're reading. it happend to me when i first got started reading. i was kind of disappointed wih myself but i was still struggling, now it's fine. eventhough i cant catch up with all the meanings but i know what  they're talking about. u must gather all ur thought and feeling into the text. about vocab, when u meet unknown words, do not check it immediately. check it when u finish ur para..try to understand the meaning b4 checking.
after checking all the words, u must read the whole text again and write down the checked words to review later. that's all i've got. ok just have a go friend!

ok welcome more ideas  Smiley

Since the letters appeared on the screen are quickly showed  and disappeared, we are unable to understand the entire story by reading or seeing the subtitle below, but by seeing the meaning their conveying via their gestures or other body languages.
