I checked the total number of state holidays in Cambodia and found that we have 26 holidays per year on top of the unofficial Chinese New Year (that's another three days.) Basically we have 29 days off per year.
Talking about new year, we Cambodians celebrate Khmer, Chinese/Vietnamese new year, and the New Year. And now we even contemplate about Christmas...hehe...Isn't it too much?
Maybe we should slow down a little bit. We cannot be a part of everything there is in this world.
I know i sound a bit hypocrit but it's true.

that does look very delicious...

Come on, you were not the one who tasted it, so you surely don't know how it tasted.

It didn't taste as good or delicious as it looked.  Cry  [kidding]

Well, this is a good example of deceitful look...hehe  Never judge anything by the look.
Anyway, it did look delicious...enough to make swallow my saliva a few times.

I think the state holidays in Cambodia are too many. Cambodia is a country that can be easily influenced by other countries' festivals. A lot of people celebrate the Chinese New Year because they believe they are descendents of Chinese immigrating to Cambodia a long time way back. People might comtemplate Christmas but it doesn't mean that it's officially stated to be a national or international holiday at school or workplaces. Cheesy Even the Chinese New Year isn't officially stated to be a holiday.  Grin People like Cambodians should be taught to work hard. They can rest and relax and enjoy Cheesy but that doesn't mean 'they should do it to the fullest extent'.  Grin

Of course, you are right in one way, by saying that we cannot be a part of everything in the world. But I'd like to put it this way. I think Christmas celebrated in other western countries seems to become overcommercialized. And the most important thing in this aspect is that 'Why happy when you see other people happy?". We don't need to do like other people. We don't really need to.  Grin
