hi, Dexter!!

well, there is no doubt that everyone apparently have a problem with doing a presentation..Since i'm also not good at doing a presentation, i can hardly share any ideas to help you..but your case seems very contrary from mine..well, you know, one night before doing a presentation i couln'd sleep and i felt very nervous, so that i couldn't help thinking that i'd perform badly, yet just a few seconds taking the floor i could overcome my nervousness, so i was able to do the better one.well, the ways i used to takeover my nervousness are:

1st taking a deep breath to make yourself feel relieved
2nd spending time a few seconds to take a glance to all your adudience, so that you can retrieve what you are going to say as well as you can use your eye contact
3rd trying to be natural but not too natural and don mind using your gestures. Sometimes using gestures, body languages, can help your to be more confident, but avoid using that indicates your nervouseness

these are all i can share..As long as you are well prepared and confident enough, it goes without saying your presentation will go smoothly.

HI! dexter and dalin
my name is sreypov ,i am new member here. After i've read ur problem and linda'answer , it's really interested me a bout taking presentation .All ur tips are good and considerable ,anyway every student such have that problem .For me ,I used to be very nervous and felt shy when i was standing in front of many students ,there are many eyes looking at me . ofcourse ,before I started my presentation ,i've prepared my wordsto speak, but i seem to forget every words and it ran out of order . i know it's too complicate.
Here my experience that i've had:   once the only thing i thought i worked , u  should practise speaking as much as u can ,whenever or wherever, just speak when u feel u want to, don't care other people thinking a bout ur pronounciation! I did it already and found my result got a lot better.
Practise speaking infront of the mirror  imagine u are standing infront of people who are watchong u. Or u can record ur vioce and listen than u will know how to make it more easy to understand.
this is just my little idea that i can share to u and i hope u can catch it Kiss
I also happy to get all ur fantastic idea back.

  From me srey pov

After i've read ur problem and linda'answer
hey why everyone here likes changing my name!! Sreypov, my name is Dalin not Linda !
well, Dexter talking about the topic of presentation, i think it's very hard to find one that is easy not complex but interesting.. i cant give the topic to you directly, for i cant think of it rite now. but what i wanna say is that: first of all, you have to think how long ur presentation lasts. Then what kind of your audience is, i mean the level of their understanding.that's it.
oh i can say u can take one intersting issue in our society to present. eg: about tourism or education..
Frankly speaking, i find it hard to find one when my lecturer assigns me to do a free topic presentation.. Grin
i've to go now. hope it'l help.

Hi ! everyone Roll Eyes

hum...! first I would like to tell u something a bout my idea, I know when the teacher tell us to take presentation in class and choose whatever topic we like ,It seem too many topics come to my mind that I cant choose the good one. but I often start to imagine a bout my self(like in story) or other happy time i've had,It really help! than u will feel like to write. Every time i started to write my essay I always do like this , ofcourse It hlpe me to concentrate what i am going to write a bout.  on other hand Dont forget while you are writing ur essay(first draft) ,ignore all ur grammar problem ,(I mean write nonstop as ur idea come to u) . after ur first draft start correct it! that all.
for dexter I cant give u a ez topic one cause the only person that can answer it, is u ur self, hope that ok Grin u are clever ,i am sure u will find a good one.
Oh i forget to say sorry to my partner CHANDALIN (is that right girl!)
now I remmber ur name ,am i a good friend? Kiss

It fantastic to hear from u back Cheesy

Hi Sreypov !!
it seems to me that you are getting confuse.. Dexter is asking us about the presentation not writing !! Doing a presentation is something far different from writing. One you just write for other to read and another you have to talk to convince other people to feel it.. Anyway it's a very kind of you that you have shared your ideas here!! i agree with you, sreypov that whenever we feel positive about doing sth, then i believe that the result will b positive as well, like teacher Paul often says feel positive!!

hey just remember my name,it does not mean that you are my good friend !! Cool
also you havent asked me to be your friend yet !! Wink i'm just kidding. Everyone here can be each other friend, rite? Smiley

nice to know u  Grin

hi dex
if im nt wrong.. u shld b in pubic speakin course nw rite? continous presentations ?  nearly end of the term nw .. so i think u shld no more or less bout how to b a gud public presentor rite? mind to share some  ? "D
lolz....the  priority thing dat a presentor shld hav is wat ? confident ?.. if ya gt self confident .. or  b confident in wat you are presenting... the speech would attracted the listeners.. ya would present yr topic clearly too. for wat i think is.. da topic dat interested you.. da topic dat is familiar to you.. and da topic dat you no clear bout.. even you cldt memorize all da text.. u stil can present it naturally .. cos of wat ? cos you alr no every singal thing in yr topic.. u r in an advance level ... den thing would nt be so hard for u jst to speak out da thing you want da listeners to no bout rite?also... while you r presenting yr speech.. hear yr speech.. think dat you are talking to yrself.. dat's sound abit silly but it does work sometime.. to gain yr selfconfident.  oh..1 more thiing.. dt mind too much bout da score.. jst think bout yr presentation.. how to get it in a fabulous speech... you studying dat course jst to improve yr speaking aint  u? so... focusing on yr aim.. score aint nth when you cld b a better english speaker ")

my piece of advice

You should think of yourself more highly... means think that you are the leader of one country and that you are gonna make a crucial presentation. This kind of thinking will help your nerves. I do this all the time whenever i'm about to present a topic.

these are all i can share..As long as you are well prepared and confident enough, it goes without saying your presentation will go smoothly.
