Ok, so you may wanna wait & listen then. I think pchum ben to me is just a traditional way of believe which should not apply for today. You know why? Because, we would not think that our ancestor born as a BRČT. They may did very well in their life. Maybe much better than people of this day who is corrupted. So why people need to worry about this useless believe.
We human being eat proper food at least 2 big meal a day. Imagine if the ghost eat food then they eat only a few times a year. So how can they survive?

Well, usually guys don't run away when they afraid. They will turn their face straight and get ready to fight against. Man represent the warrior. So whenever in time of need and scare they will always take care of their beloved one.

Ghost? I am not sure i believe it but why most of the girls afraid it? Are you serious? From what I know, several boys admit that they're afraid of ghost. Anyway, I don't believe in ghost either. Still, I think it's good that we celebrate Pchum Ben. At least, it shows the world that it's our culture. Though the world is moving forward to a new trend, still it doesn't hurt to think back of the things that people in the past did. This will show that we will never forget our anchestors.

I agree with Greeny. It is a tradition that you may or may not accept. The advantages of the Phchum Ben Festival are: one is it encourages people to be more open-minded, spend money on food, bring the food to a pagoda to pray for happiness in the family. Second, it also encourages people to believe in 'Do good, receive good but do bad, receive bad." Though it scares people a bit,it's worth it. Third, it helps increase the economic acitivities. I don't believe in ghosts, but I do believe in spirits/souls that won't leave the world because of some unclear reason.
