Hi everybody, 

I just reckon that posting your background here is a way of getting to know each other. If you don't like it, you don't need to post but just look at your friends' background to get to know other people. You don't need to tell about your age if you are sensitive about it. 

In this website (www.english-test.net/forum), you can find out the background of each member if you want to.  Your background isn't considered as the most secret or private thing in your life,I hope. It shouldn't be compared to secret documents taken care by the government which you can hardly obtain. 

And you are right, Rachada, it depends on each of you if you want to post or not. Just enjoy!

Every forums has their own cultures, I think we should retain the culture of privatization. If you -members- have problems with English, post them as topic and we will help you out. I don't see the point of personal contact can do more than the forum cans. Furthermore, we should ask Palm Tree about his primary consideration about his topic: what does he wants actually?

If we truly want our forum to sustain our own cultures, then we all might have to come into a mutual agreement never to post any beside-the-forum's purpose topics like we might have done before.

I consider this your opinion.  You can retain your culture of privatization and I can retain my privacy lest it'll be invaded.

Anyway, I hope we all don't want to be a robot in the forum.  A personal contact shouldn't be deemed as dangerous or unpleasant. Several personal contacts in this thread now have become what we call 'a forum contact'.

This is not about the word "mean", this is about the word "well-being."
And if you want to point this to "love" matter, then I have more excuse in pausing this thread progress. Inferring from this comment, or statement, you have indirectly answer my question onto your purpose of this thread, which is for "love." I shall discuss this matter with Paul.

Nila, you are the moderator while I'm not, thus it is you who makes decision which will be followed, and respect, from the other members. But, I want you to come into the stage of critical consideration, because a mod, even without any authority into the policy-making, may affects the forum's policy. It is us who will follow the forum policy. This place suppose to improve member's -individually- English standard and help solves their problems. If we come to the stage where we choose to contact others personally, then the forum, therefore, becomes a place for more privately arrangement then publicly seeking for helps. You may question my early comments on "privatization" and I may answer that you made good point to make me withdraw this concept. However, this lead to the matter of "forum policy" which i brought in earlier, and this must be taken seriously.

My regard is for those who believe in themselves, I'm not selfish. It is because I have no authority in this forum, but I registered for its service, I feel that I have the right to protest against something I fear may affect the forum's well-being. Thus, to Palm-Tree, you must make it clear about your purpose of this thread, if you want this to survive. The verdict is base on reasons, not feelings.
