Hi guys,

Have everyone prepare yourself on the ielts exam yet? The test is nearly coming soon on 16th december. I would like to tell and share this tips that come from my friend to everyone, n would like u to make a comment on my tips or u have any idea about it, so let's me know.

PREPARING FOR THE IELTS TEST. Try to be yourself , be confident on what u will do. what you are doning and what u did. Don be nervous. Everybody else has done it well n u will be doing good too. Try yr best n practise in GILC centre n other place as much as u can. REMEMBER THIS: " It's not practise that make u perfect, but it's PERFECT practise that makes perfect."

Eat sth good and sleep well a few days be4 the exam, don study too hard or study until midnight before the test. Cuz it's make a problem. U need to have enough sleep, wake up freshly early in the moring n prepare yourself to fight in this battle. Make yourself ready n that is it. Do yr test , try yr best, and do not Panic.

SPEAKING: it'slways come first. Practise with yr friends, n require yr friends to give a comment on it. Try to be talkative n think quickly , don  pause when speaking r u score will low. Task 3 the nonstop one ain't gonna easy.

LISTENING: Try to practise at least a half the sample in the GILC centre. Then u willl get use to it. Check where and why u get it wrong. If needed, repeat the cassette again n again until u feel familiar with those mistake. Do not cheat yrself when marking yr own score, it won't work .

READING: The hardest one . The hardest subject for me. And maybe all of u think so too. Do it by the technique what u learn by skimming . scanning. Try to read at the specific time given, cuz u don have time to enjoy that passage. But u should have feeling on it, cuz it can make u concentrade to it.Always read the questions first so that u won't waste the time looking the article serveral times back and forth.

WRITING: Task1 on the writing, mostly about graph or process. n Task2, generally about the agumentative essay. Follow the instructions and rules of technical writing. Don think it's too hard for u and also don push yrself too hard on it. Try to be creative n write simply but u should use academic words as u can. And remember , the more u write , the more u make mistakes,so don write too long n follow this rule : KISS=" Keep It Simple n Short" But not too short . U must at least reach the minimum words they require. If. not u'll get penalty n yr band will dedeucted then.

Good Luck everyone n me too. Wish u have a good result on the ielts exam. Smiley

Hey Chimchandanika,

Thanks for that great advice about how to prepare for the IELTS test. It is interesting to read about your own tips and techniques. It is very true only perfect practice that makes perfect, so it is important for students to know some basic tips and techniques to help them when they are preparing for the test.

There are lots of other tips and techniques up on this board and we welcome any other advice by anyone else for how to approach this test. It is easy if you know how, and passing on that knowledge to others is a fantastic way to help them!

 Keep confident,

By the way, 16th December is still 3 weeks, so you still have time to do lots of practice, especially reading ( practice keeping the time, do 3 readings in 1 hour as many times as you can ) and listening, the more practice of test materials the better!

 Have fun,
