Hey Ruby,

Welcome to the site, and please encourage your friends to seek advice on their English language learning from this site. It will only get better! I am sorry about not replying to you while i was on the radio, my phone was out of money   , however great to see you online!

reading is not so easy, there is a difference between reading for an exam and actually reading to understand a text on many levels. I mean that in an exam you dont have to read everything to answer the questions, but in academic reading you need to understand much more!

I am happy reading is easy for you, but i hope you can share your learning experience with us all here on the only free online english language community of students and teachers in cambodia.

Take it easy,

Tongue Yes, I do believe that ielts reading test is not an easy one. Eventhough I got 7.5 in reading test, but I still think it is a difficult one.
Sad First, It is timing problem. While I was doing the ielts reading test, I did not have enough time for passage 3, so just guest.
 Second, the questions are tricky. I had to read the questions carefully and understood it clearly before answering each question.
 Last, quite a lot of the passages are very unfamiliar, or sometimes, I don't even know what the passage is talking about . My solution is: don't care what the meaning, just understand the questions, find the keywords and match the keywords/phrases in the passage. I don't know if it is a good strategy, but I am sure that it helps. Cool

Hey, Ruby!
I do agree with you that Reading is not an easy  skill to learn, especially, in Ielts exam. I think if you want to improve your reading skill you should learn more synonyms and vocabulary.
