Hmm... Reading needs time, so you must use your time well.

How to use them well:

1. Don't forget the Skim-Scan technick.
2. Don't do the "yes/no" or "true/false" question in the first place. The trick is that they are easily predicted.
3. When you encounter questions that you dont know the answer, quickly switch to another question, and continue doing this. Reading question is not opinion based, but tricky. So, try to answer what you can find first.

Hmm... i'll come back with more.

Thanks for your advice !
For me reading is really tough. The point is the time not enough, and there are 3 articles.
when I do the skimming I cannot guess the answer correctly. Because you can not get
the answer directly from the article. It do not tell you in the context. You have to think.

Hi there,

It's kinda interesting topic here. Personally, I think that you can do well in reading section, if you know the main idea of the article. Of course vocabularies is the key point to get to know the main idea. But, vocabularies alone can't be that good. Thus, what you have to know is much more such as:

- know the sructure of a paragraph: topic, supporting, and concluding sentences. Why? Because it's easy for you to seek the main idea. Mostly, main idea is in the topic sentence. It's the same to writing. When you write the topic sentence, it is your main idea that you suppose to show what your papragraph will be about.

- know the thesis statement if you read an essay. It's the same to above.

- Practice reading as much as you can, becaue it helps a lot to make you familair with words, sentences, how the sentences are written..., especially get the ideas from your reading. So, it makes you find the main ideas when you read easily.

I think there are many more ideas that the other members would give here, so I am waiting to read yours too.

P.

Hi Chesda and all, Cheesy

For reading section, I didn't think it is very difficult at the previous time even I don't know much about vacabularies, but I've just recognised it is after I'd taken test 2 or 3 times. As I wanna improve my reading skill as the same as you guys, I asked my teacher for techniques to improve my skill and he adviced me as Chesda has mentioned. However, I just wanna add some ideas related to reading.

Actually, if you want to improve reading skill, you should know many vocabularies as much as possible because sometimes those words are key words for the text, but if you are doing a test, you don't have to pay attention much on those difficult words because it may waste your time. I mean you can read through the sentences which consist difficult word from the beginning to the end and try to guess its meaning. If it is still impossible, you should read 2 or 3 sentences, the above or bellow, around that sentence ( the sentence that consists difficult word), it's also a good way to get meaning of the text.

Ok! Just my addition!
