Hey Chandalin,
I understand your problem, it is easy to get nervous when we are asked to stand up in front of people and give a presentation or a speech. It is not unusual, so don't worry. Even I was nervous the first time I got up in front of a classroom to teach, but I tried to think positive and had confidence in myself. I was very self-conscious and nervous, but within 2 minutes of starting the presentation, I was able to relax and I told myself that all of the students were my friends so that helped me a lot to relax. It is not so hard if you try to see your audience as supportive friends rather than critical observers.
Another good idea is to focus on one face in your audience, maybe ask your best friend to sit at the front of the class to give you moral support. Then just concentrate on your friend and you will get the encouragement you need to become more confident!!
Maybe ask your lecturer if you could do a group presentation, that is what i do with some of my classes and I find that if 3 or 4 students get up in front of the class together and all speak about the same topic, there is less pressure on each individual student.
Don't forget also , that if there are questions or anything from your lessons that you don't understand, use this forum and ask me and the brilliant 5 steps members to give you their advice.
As a last point, practising your speech in front of a mirror at home and becoming confident that what you are going to tell everyone is important and people will be interested in it, also helps a lot!
Keep me updated with your progress,
best of luck and have fun,
