Hello Paul and everybody,

Could you please explain to me what slang is? Most of often, I meet only idioms and phrasals. But I am not sure about "slangs". How can we use slangs? A few books say it is not good to use slangs, but others say slangs are used in a particular situation like about medicine or something else. Would you mind explaining this to me?
Thank you.
I hope to get your reply.  Cheesy

Hi Keosomala,  Cheesy

No one wanna kick the bucket! This is slang. Slang is a very informal word, expression that is more common in spoken language and is not suitable in formal or written language.

Slang is used mainly/only in very informal speech by particular people/group of people who know each other very well or who share the same social background. It is often used in order to be offensive as well.

Slang is usually used in particular situation that people feel strongly about such as family, sex, drug(medicine), argument, death, etc

How can we use slang?
Personally, i think SLANG should be used to people you know very well or to people you hate very much.

Hope to know more about SLANG,  Smiley

Thank you, Jupiter, for your idea.
I begin to understand 'Slang' better now.
I will try harder for it.

Have a nice day!
