Hi every one,
I have some problem in communication with foreigners espeically, when I am introduced to some one else what should I reply when they're introduce their name to me? I just reply them by telling my name that it. Anything more  to say to them that make me polite in communication?

Then it's a good idea to ask a basic question to get the conversation rolling.

was it right or wrong when we are introduced to someone then we say " How do you do" for politely.

'How do you do?' is used in formal introductions, but then after that also give them your name and say it's a pleasure to meet them; that way, the conversation is starting to move.

I got one q here too how about when they introduce themselve should we tell them our nickname or not. S.t i think it's impolite what you think.

  i think you should ,if u want. we can introduce them our surname and than tell more about our nick name . Ex: My name is sreypov and you can call me cane that's fine.

Is it ok if we remain sitting while we're introduced to someone? I've been told that it's not polite, but usually I just forget to stand up.

It's very important in khmer culture when you introduce yourself to someone you need to be polite such as standing up, put your hands together (sam peas)...etc.

Remember different cultures act differently. So just make yourself suite to those circumstances.
