For me, I think mostly widow are off-age. But such like Ly Marina, ooh, hottie Widow, that's will change my decision.

Looking at both cultures, you'll find that Cambodian and American cultures have quite different focuses. Cambodian men don't very much value widows just because of her past experience through her previous marriage. The opposite side of the coin that belongs to American men is that they value women just because of her abilities to survive independently and maturely. If Cambodian men change their mindset about widows, the situation will be better and widows will be considered just as normal women. You Cambodian men, think better, refresh your mind!

In some countries in Asia, Europe, and America, divorce rate is very high (up to 50%). Re-marriage is very common. There are tons of widows and widowers available and ready for new relationship. But I'd never heard that widows were more sought-after than never-married girls. I think in Western world decision of marriage is not made on the basis of past marital status but rather whether each party loves each other and sees him or herself living happily with the other party until their death. However there is another kind of marriage called marriage of convenience in which the main driving force of marriage is not love but materials (money, power,...)

There have been increasing rate of divorce in Cambodia that consequentially will reduce the tone of disriminative perception against widows.
However, almost ALL Khmer guys still want to get married only to not only never-married but virgin girls. The female virginity value is still very highly concerned in Khmer culture. Men tend to see non-virgin girls as non pure or incomplete. That makes them very concerned about female virginity when it comes to marriage.
I personally think that this kind of thinking is not truthful because relationship between men and women is not based on viriginity but love, caring, and compatibility although as a Khmer male living a society that cherishes such value I can't deny that I don't weight in the virginity value at all in marriage decision, BUT maybe i won't care if love is too strong.

Hmm... you know why there is high rate in divorce in WEstern?

You see, their marriage last an hour while for our culture, marriage last a day. Would a man wants to marry and re-marry that many times. Man! I would be exhuasted to dead.

Hey Denith! I don't know much about western! But in US, Bf or Gf is easy to find but not marriage. Most american almost take the rest of their life to find a perfect match! I know they would have problem with each other about a day later after married. But you know why some of them still can keep their marriage license? it's due to some living materials which force them to keep their relationship. Besides, also have a lot of things which related to, what can I say?, it's like if they keep staying together, they will reduce their tax income, insurance and so on. It's complicated to explain and to understand. *Scratching my head* 

Anyway, I still can't figure out the reason why most americans give more value to the widows than virgin girls? Most of guys said her former-husband is not good enough to keep his wife, that's why she divorced him! Well, what's the right point? It's not fair at all to blame it all to men, right?
